A night at the ballpark

Went to the Nats game last night and I wanted to take up a cause that my wife brought to my attention last year while at a game. That is, fans who wear apparel of a team who is not playing in the game they are attending. For example, last night at the Nats/Astros game, there were several patrons wearing gear from the Yankees, Mets, Braves, Orioles, and a few smatterings of Dodger Blue.

Now somebody has to explain this to me. Why in G-d's green Earth would you get up in the morning and say, "I'm going to the Nationals/Astros game tonight, let me break out my Derek Jeter jersey and my Dodgers hat and head out to ole' RFK"????? I just don't get it.

On the positive side of the night, I had the opportunity to try the Kosher Sausage offering (chicken/turkey mix) and have to report that it is as good, if not better, than the "regular" sausage offered up at the park. The only downside (other then the price tag, $6) was that it didn't come with onions and peppers. At last check I don't think it violated kashrut laws to put some vegetables on top of your meat...but what the heck to do I know.
