Can I Return This Lottery Ticket?

Of course you realize I haven’t posted in a while. Well part of that was what I want to call a Mental Health Break and part of it is what most people call “you’re a lazy SOB”. Either side of the coin I guess. You’ve probably also noticed the revamped look of NBLAJ. I’m still in the process of tweaking it so that I remove all the records of the guy who designed the look and put in my personalization. Bear with me, I think I should have it set up soon.

Now on to the topic of lottery tickets. I don’t generally make it a practice of playing the numbers each week but will put a dollar or two down when the jackpots pique my interest. Today I looked over and saw that the Powerball jackpot was up in the low $100 Million range so I decided to plop down a buck along with my morning coffee. I didn’t really look at the ticket and just stuck it in my wallet.

When I was going through my wallet this afternoon I got around to noticing the ticket complete with the randomly generated numbers from the DC lottery machine and frankly I want a refund. My numbers?

12 47 49 56 58 and the Powerball of 29

Are you kidding me? Were the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 taken? There are plenty of people who say that the lottery is a fool’s retirement plan and with numbers like these I think I know why. UGH!
