Reasons to Stop at the Hospital

From the....did you see that file:

I was browsing through a newspaper’s online photo gallery today and saw this little dinger:

The photo was taken in Patchogue, NY. According to the site:

A police pursuit ended after suspect fleeing in this car, crashed into Patient Drop off sign in front of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital on Hospital Road in Patchogue around 3:30 p.m. The suspect who drove wrong way on County Road 101 as he fled police, was wanted for unknown reasons.

I love any crash that involves a stolen car that ends in front of the hospital. The way I see it is that this way it cuts down on expensive ambulance costs not to mention potential airlifiting to a trauma center. Anything to save a nickel.

I also think that if you are going to steal a car, a hospital is a good place to leave it. They have plenty of parking and it’s a pretty secure place. This way the car is safe until police can investigate it, brush for finger prints, etc and it can stay there until you can come to claim it. As an added bonus if you can’t get someone to take you to the hospital to claim it (and the it’s out where the busses don’t run) you can always call 911 and tell them to send an ambulance!
